Q: What inspired you to start writing?
Alexander Dumas, Aldous Huxley, Conan Doyle, Robert Ludlum and a host of top-class authors
-
Q: Can you tell us a little about your latest book?
It is a drama, Golden Bear. About to be published in a month.
-
Q: How do you create your characters?
The plot first rises in the mind. It sprouts like a seed, and the characters develop naturally from the story.
-
Q: What does your typical writing day look like?
Most of the day is spent in unavoidable household work. But every day, I keep apart a specific hour for writing/thinking.
-
Q: What has been the most rewarding part of being an indie author?
Naturally, seeing my books in print. Secondly, when a few (ah, only a few) copies are sold!
-
Q: What’s one challenge you’ve faced in your writing journey?
I have not taken to writing as a profession. So, there were no major problems. Only, a couple of publishers cheated me. But that has not affected me.
-
Q: Do you have any favorite writing tools or apps?
No. I type on my laptop, using MS Word.
-
Q: What advice would you give to new or aspiring indie authors?
I have not grown wise enough to advise anybody. Keep on reading all kinds of books. The inspiration will automatically rise. Never give up.
-
Q: How do you handle book promotion as an indie author?
My kind of living does not allow me to spend on marketing or advertisement. I just make Tweets or post links in social media. And leave it at that.
-
Q: What’s next for you? Are you working on a new book?
Yes. Translating one of my books into a regional language, here. I keep a notebook with plenty of ideas. No hurry - at my age, that is (ah, running on 82)!
