Jeanette Atterbury

In 2005 I typed out my story as a form of therapy. Reliving the events during writing was deeply traumatic, and the prospect of revisiting them in detail kept the manuscript untouched for years. In November 2025, I plucked up the courage to share my truth—hoping it will offer comfort, strength, and solidarity to other victims of abuse. While this book speaks openly about my own experiences, the details of my three children’s childhood remain theirs to tell. Behind Closed Doors is a testament to survival, resilience, and the power of breaking the silence.   I have used the pseudonym Jean Macbeth.

In February 2026 I self-published three books.  Sasha using the pseudonym Peta Marks.  This book is about sibling rivalry and bullying.  Bosses, also using the pseudonym Peta Marks, this book is about unfair treatment of women in the workplace. A children's book titled If my dog COCO could talk, I used my married name Jeanette Atterbury.  This book is about the family female Jack Russell and my family, told in her own voice.
