Rajan V. Kokkuri
Published Indian Author & Social Worker living in Muscat, Oman.
Rajan V. Kokkuri is a luminary in the Oil and Gas Design sector and an accomplished writer, who believes that “Writing is the art of breathing life into words, crafting worlds where imagination reigns, and giving voice to the silent echoes of the soul.” Born at Attoor village which is well known as birth place of Attoor Krishna Pisharadi & Attoor Ravi Varma) in Thrissur district of Kerala, Rajan was raised in a family with strong values, and his parents Villadath Sankaran Nair and VK Janaki Amma, instilled in him the virtues of service and dedication. A successful professional, his passion transcends the boundaries of engineering, and he is also a prolific writer and a voracious reader.
Social Activities
Rajan’s commitment to social work is evident in his active involvement with the World Malayalee Federation (WMF). His leadership roles within WMF have included Managine Editor of Viswa Kairli Malayalam Magazine (2026-2027), Global Malayalam Forum Coordinator (2024-26), Middle East Vice President (2022-23), Middle East Malayalam Forum Coordinator (2020-21), and Oman Malayalam Coordinator (2019-20). He has also organized significant cultural events in Muscat, such as ‘Madhurima Muscat’ and ‘Upasana Muscat’, featuring performances by celebrated artists like Krishna Chandran and G. Venugopal.
Literary Contributions
In 2017 Kokkuri wrote a story of a couple who lived on the footpath near Guruvayoor temple and it was published in “The Logical Indian” website.
Rajan published his first poem, “Ponmande Oru Swapnam,” (based on the dream of legendary writer Madhavikutty) published in Viswa Kairalee Magazine in 2022. He has authored several books, each exploring a unique facet of the human experience. His works include: ‘I Remain Forever Yours’, ‘My Precious Dreams’, ‘The Invisible Love’, and ‘Born to Dream’ (Memories of BPL Employees), a collaborative work with 121 former BPL employees, recounting the history and experiences of the BPL group. Born to Dream hilites the life of the famous founders of BPL, Sri TPG Nambiar, Sri. KPR Nambiar and MA Uppal. The Born to Dream takes the reader to know the roots of Electronics revolution in India. His storytelling extends to podcasts and audio dramas too. Rajan’s works have been featured in magazines like Taare Zameen Par, and his contents on Quora have garnered over 436,700 views. Kokkuri is a very popular columnist of Taare Zameen Par Magazine too. Rajan’s popular story the “Prisoner’s Daughter” is available as a podcast story world wide too.
Recognition and Awards
Rajan’s literary contributions have earned him numerous accolades, including the Bharat Sevak Award by Central Bharat Sevak Samaj and the Certificate of Best Literary Writing by Kavita Literary Arts and Culture Venue, Punalur. His book ‘I Remain Forever Yours’ was featured among the Top 100 Best Debut Novel Writers by Literatureslight & Criticspace, New Delhi, and he was also recognized for Best Weekly English Poems by Delhi Poetry Slam. His writings have been featured in notable publications such as London Global, Mt. Kenya Times, Muscat Daily, Oman Observer, and Gulf Madhyamam.
A Proud Family Man
Rajan is the proud father of two sons. Rahal Rajan, his eldest, holds a Bachelor of Engineering, a Master of Technology, and a Master of Science from the UK Nikhil Rajan, his younger son, is a B. Tech graduate from NIT Trichy and has a Master of Science from Penn State. Rajan's spouse, Anitha Rajan, is a BCom graduate. She is a home maker with passion for painting, acting cover songs, drama/short films and also a trained Chenda Performer. Anitha has also acted in two films ‘Avanthikayude Veedu’ and Tracing Shadow produced by Muscat team. His brother, VK Girijavallabhan, is a retired officer of the Indian Audit & Accounts Service, and his sister, VK Kamalam G Menon, is a supportive presence in his life.
Rajan is deeply committed to making a positive impact on the world through his social activities and literary contributions. He advocates for preserving the environment, reducing carbon emissions, and preventing man-made disasters. Rajan believes in the power of storytelling to raise awareness about societal issues and inspire change. Rajan’s professional and creative journeys are testament to his dedication to excellence and his unwavering commitment to making a difference in the world.
